My leukemia's back.

Good morning!

The snow has quit (at least for now) and the sun is trying to come out...looks like it's going to be a beautiful day.

Have a good one everyone!

I've loved spending time with my friend and her baby (4 months old now), but man am I thankful it's not me. I enjoy my freedom at this point way too much. I love the smell and the cuddles, but I can't imagine being tied to another being 24/7 anymore.

There's definitely something to be said for having them young, growing them up, and tossing them out of the nest while you are still young enough to 'enjoy' life.

Every time I have to pick up Kendra (who now weighs 48.8 pounds) and carry her out to the car or put her on the catheter table, I think to myself, "This is why God gives children to the young." <sigh>

Good morning! Yesterday was 78° here. I think we broke some records. I wore a very lightweight dress shirt and capris to work and was hot! So wierd for the middle is winter. Today cooler by 10°?
Need to go dig out more summer work clothes for today.
As for the snow, you all can keep and enjoy it!

Got my breeding pens set up tonight

My two little silkie cockerels, who have lived together all their lives, suddenly decided to go at each other today. They sparred on and off all day. I'd planned to put them both in the pen with the silver hens, but the one has a torn comb and a bloody spot on his head. I'm afraid the hens will see that and peck. So, he's staying in their little bachelor pad by himself for a few days. Everyone else is pretty much set, though. My main coop only has my Marans, the Leghorns, and the Sussex, plus a few littles growing out. It looks so empty

Still need to cull some cockerels, I think there are 3 or 4 big enough to go. maybe this upcoming week, if the weather is nice.

I'll just hatch chicks, thank you very much. I can sell them on CL and on one bats an eye!
Outstanding on getting your pens setup -- you don't mess around when you get your mind set on getting something done!

I do love babies, but I can't imagine having one at this point -- guess I'll just have to wait for grandbabies (and I'm happy to wait a few more years!!!!). A few years ago there were some things going on at work that not everyone knew about yet so there were a lot of hushed conversations and shutting up when certain people would walk into a room, etc -- this lead one lady to ask me if I was pregnant and my response was so horrified I knew for sure I was done, done, DONE with having babies (good thing since I'd had DH 'fixed' after DS was born, lol).

Good morning folks

Morning, Phil, how are you this fine day?

There's definitely something to be said for having them young, growing them up, and tossing them out of the nest while you are still young enough to 'enjoy' life.

Absolutely. I will admit even up until a couple of years ago I was having some major issues with the idea of both my babies being gone from home -- and thinking DH was the most horrible person in the world to be counting down to DS graduating and getting launched with such glee......but this last year things have evolved to the point that I find myself actually looking forward to it A LOT.

I bet, Blooie, not sure how you do it (other than you just do because it needs to be done).

Morning!!! Hope the sun stays out for you today!

Morning all.

Driving home from small group last night, there was a 3 tie bale of grass hay smack dab in the middle of our lane.

We didn't even hesitate. Pulled over, Honey and Big Boy boosted it onto the roof of the mini van, and off we went

Free hay!

Along the same lines, Honey came home Friday with a few boxes of canning jars and two huge stainless steel bowls. One of his patients is moving into Assisted Living and is getting rid of a lot of stuff. His patients love him so much. Well, so do I, so I can see the appeal!

Morning Phil! How's everything at your house? Wife and you doing well?
We are doing okay.... Except for the whole cabin fever thing.
