My leukemia's back.

We prefer to think of it as, he was the vessel by which the cheeseburger fulfilled it's natural purpose

. Joel Salatin says to celebrate the chicken-ness of the chicken, the pig-ness of the pig, etc. Well, he celebrated the burger-ness of the burger. It had a destiny, you know. Sitting under the heat lamp was not part of it's destiny.

He still regrets not getting the shake........

That's a man for your Rachel. I definitely would have also rescued the shake, even if it was a flavor I didn't care for. Can't wait to grocery shop again later this week, I love to look for clearance ice cream and give it a short but, sweet new home.

whoops sorry Rachel re: Hubby, I bypassed the part about him not having the money to save the shake.

He must have

been heartsick about leaving it to curdle and get flushed down the drain at some later date. I do sincerely apologize to him. He is a man in a million!

So, I think Ima get in trouble for this response.....

and of course after I hit the submit button, I read it to Honey. My pet peeve is this trend for "rescuing" animals. No one purchases or buys an animal any more, every single blessed one is rescued. I was telling Honey that. He thought that over a minute and and said "I rescued a cheeseburger from Burger King today. Had I not intervened, it would have died a lonely death under a heat lamp"

Thass why I love that man. His only regret was he didn't have enough cash on him to rescue a shake, also. Poor thing was left behind, to an unknown fate, likely just melted away into oblivion........
There was nothing wrong with your post.

Good morning everyone!

I see by the calendar yesterday was the 1st day of spring...is everyone seeing that? We reached the low 60's yesterday but more snow expected somewhere between Friday and this coming Monday. We'll get our spring yet!

Yep, we're trying to get Tam moved into her new place and the weather is NOT cooperating! Rain, spits of snow, followed by the promise of sunshine before the 60 mph winds kick in. <sigh>

There's nothing easy about moving and when the weather is uncooperative, it's even harder. BUT...Tam will be in her new home and won't have to worry about moving ever again (if she doesn't want to).

Can't wait to hear how she fixes up the place Blooie!

Blooie--what a blessing for all involved! The house sounds lovely. I prefer the older places, like you said, they have all those nice little touches. Character, that's what it is. Bummer about the distance, but a few miles isn't really too bad. Just no more walking across the street--are bicycles an option for the older kiddos, weather permitting?

And I know it's a good friend and all that, but Tam got everything all legal, right? My sister just went through something similar, bought from a friend on lease to own a few years ago, and the friend just tried to wring more $$ out of them, they had to take it to court. So, not to be a downer, but it's on my mind recently.

Debby--wonderful about the boy coming, and for a whole week!! Adult children often forget what a blessing they are to parents, even still.

Speaking of parents, my Mom was walking her dog in their local canyon yesterday and took a fall. Hurt her knee and ribs, got checked out at the local ED and nothing broken but she's going to be sore for a few days. Please pray for her healing. Of course, this had to happen when the weather is so bad I really can't just pop over there

Okay, I know my friends here will appreciate the depth of the current crisis in our household. We've been struggling with this for 2-3 days now, and it's reached critical mass. Something has to be done, today, or the entire household may simply implode. If nothing else, the Procurement Officer will definitely be fired!

We are out of butter.

Yep, not a stick to be seen. I used the last a few nights ago to make peach cobbler. I know, they sell it at the store. But, I'm so cheap, I only like to buy it at Costco cause it's, well, cheaper. So I've got to get down there today and stock up.
But isn't that what a cow is for?? Just take off the cream for the milk and put it into your mixer with a bit of salt, mix until it changes into butter. Save the buttermilk, press the buttermilk out of the butter and put both into the frig.

Hi hb

long time no see! How are things going with you?

Yeah, my momma cow isn't a milker. she lets me put my hand on her hip as I walk around her, that's about her tolerance for human interaction.

I am working on her daughter Tater, though, with the idea I may milk her a bit after she calves. But she's not old enough to breed yet, so that's a ways off!
