Oh me too! I just went out to check before going to bed. Roany has a nest dug out of the hay, with nice tall sides and she and Cheese are snuggled down warm and toasty. We've got them in the stock trailer by themselves...I know where I'll be spending time tomorrow!

I just love baby goats. I think they are almost as sweet as a puppy that still has puppy breath. Then, there's a human baby with that soft downy fluff on her head, and that baby breath. Baby chicks softly trilling themselves to sleep. Kittens snuggling and purring, and the oh so soft texture and fragrance of a spring bloom. White puffy clouds. The beautiful shades of green in new leaves of spring. The feel of a soft dewy rain on your face, the first day of spring sunshine warming your back after a long hard winter. The smell of fertile soil. These are a few of my favorite things.

No doubt about it LG, babies are the best!

(For some reason I started hearing a song in my head after reading your post...what do you suppose that's about?

We have Cheese! Finally, a baby goat  :celebrate . Single little solid chocolate brown doeling. Daddy is Mac, momma is Roany, so baby is Cheese. I swear, Sugar Monkey is in love! He's more into her than any of us, and that's saying something.

It was getting late and I didn't want to stress momma any more, so I don't have pics tonight. I'll get some up in the am. She's so darn cute!

Oh yay! What a fun family of names! Is Cheese big? Singletons can sometimes be huge kids. Since is a little doeling will you be keeping her to build your herd?

Hmmmm. Probably not the same song I am hearing this morning

Awwww, fluffy babies!

She's our first goat baby, so I really don't know if she's big or not. She looks tiny to me! But she's strong, she got up and bounced around a bit when I was just out there.

We've got them in the livestock trailer, and how it's set it's a bit of a step to get in. I decided to just crawl in, less threatening to her and maybe not upsetting to Roany. So, I"m there on my hands and knees, well, Cheese doesn't know much, right? newborn and all that---maybe I have milk! I got head butted a time or two, probably shouldn't have let her but it was too cute.

Not so cute with the cows, though. I've been very happy how Tater, the yearling heifer, has tamed down very well. Well, a bit too tame, she got very pushy when I was graining them today. I had quit carrying my little bat, so all I had was the grain bucket. Well, I had to bash her in the face with it a few times to get her to back off, stupid cow. I guess we need some training sessions, I didn't realize she'd gotten that pushy. I'd like to find a halter to fit her and train her to lead and tie, that might help. Need to halter break Chili also. Thankful for good weather!

Bunnylady, that's an adorable chicklet! What is it?
