My leukemia's back.

Running to catch up with this thread! Whew!

So good to read through the posts and see all the support shown here. Hoping and praying we hear some good Rachel news soon.

Blooie, I'd tell you you looked good in your ER picture but that is NOT where you look your best...you look your best surrounded by family and chickens. So no more of those shenanigan's young lady! Glad you're doing ok. Congrats on Kendra's upcoming graduation!

For all of us, the waiting is so hard. Praying for Rachel and the whole team...I'm so glad she brought us all together.

Well, if you think Monday's photo in the ER looked good, maybe I should have had him take one when we went back there Wednesday night. Right now my brain says "I'm starving" but my stomach says, "I'm soooo full " - and I still have the grape skin stuck in my throat. Just can't swallow anything very well - like trying to cram a watermelon down a soda straw. Pills have been fun!
Kendra's graduation was boring. Well, it was boring. :barnie They just kinda did a mini-class room day and had a snack. Oh, but this is big! Each of the kids got a "special certificate" for what the teachers had noticed was so wonderful about them....like a little girl who got one that said she was "such a good listener" and a little boy who got "most helpful". Well, many of the audience knew about Kendra being in the class, but don't really know Kendra. And she was a little overstimulated so she was sitting her chair kinda flapping and zoning out. She did join in the little songs they sang, but that was about it. So the looks on the audiences' faces when she got the award for "best reader" and Mrs. Richards said, "Kendra is the best reader...she can read all of her classmate's names and almost any word you show her" was pretty priceless......they were looking at Kendra and you could see "that kid?" all over them. Yes, that kid!! I was thinking, "Yeah, yeah, your kid got a alphabet chart to finish learning his letters and their sounds at home over the summer - congratulations!" I know that's tacky and not very Christian of me, but doggone it, sometimes you just want to grab people by the shirt front and scream "WILL YOU PLEASE LOOK AT HER AND ACTUALLY SEE HER?" GRRRRRRRRR Miss Pam, who has been Kendra's special aide for the past 3 years, was crying like a baby as we loaded Kendra into the van for the last time. She loves this baby with her whole heart, and this was their last year together. It was sad - she held me and I held her and we just bawled. But this is what we want for Kendra...always moving forward.

And so, for the first time since 1989, as of yesterday Gramma Diane's Day Care is closed. She starts Kindergarten next year and Katie will be in Middle School. I'll still take care of them when they are sick, or on half days when Jen has to stay later to clean the kitchen or serve lunches for meetings, but that's it. I'm done. And I'm going to be totally, absolutely, heartbreakingly lost.

The "Dream Team" - back,LR Mrs. Peck and Miss Pam. Mrs. Peck has been a family friend for over 20 years, plus she was the preschool aide when Evan and then Katie attended Rocky Preschool. Kendra is her last little from our family. And what can I say about Miss Pam? Kendra adores her, and so do we! In the front with Kendra is Mrs. Richards, who was, again, also Evan and Katie's teacher in preschool. We have been so blessed!

So what in the he11 is "sudden onset prednisone induced dysphasia"? Did you ever get that, Phil? That's what this stupid visit - after twice in the ER, one followup appt and a phone conversation with the clinic - has me in for now!!!
