My leukemia's back.

@Outpost JWB how are things going with your chickens?

Lost one of my CCL roosters Saturday. I have 3. He has been the only one affected so far with MG. His eyes swelled and breathing was sometimes labored. He has been sick and isolated off and on for 2 months. Temps have dropped down below freezing at night here. I think the winter will wipe out a lot of the weak. Not looking forward to all of that.

In other news, mom is getting a hip replacement Thursday. Since dad cannot walk (diabetic-and over 400lbs), I will be spending the nights there to help with dad, mom, dogs, goats, donkey, guinea pig and housework. It's going to be a tough month. We don't necessarily get along very well.

In good news, I was told yesterday that the bank I work for has a full time spot for me!!!!

I have to switch branches and drive a bit further, but it's full time! Insurance, benefits, YEAH! If all goes well, looks like I will be full time as of November 2nd. I've been working around 35 hours a week anyways, so won't be much of a change there. I am super happy that we will have insurance now. DH needs to see his doctors and his meds have been outrageous out of pocket costs.

Construction has been started on the house. They are coming Thursday to replace all of the quest plumbing fittings with new pex fittings. We have 2 major leaks currently and have to turn the water off and on at the road when we need it. I'll be overjoyed to get that fixed!

You all have a good day. Sorry I haven't been posting much. Just been too busy. Take care.

Wow, you do have a lot going on. I'm so sorry about your birds, losing them like that must be dreadful.

Good luck with spending the month taking care of parents and their livestock. Try to keep your sanity (been there, done that and it's very difficult).

Congrats on the full time position! Benefits are definitely worth doing a happy dance over!

Keep in touch when you can, keeping you in my prayers

Here are some pics of my daughter's bday party the other day. The girls are bobbing for apples in the air. My daughter is the one with the dark turquoise jacket and orange and pink top.

The party went very well and they all had a blast! You all have a good day!

@hbhoffman good to see you again! I'm glad your heal is getting better, things like that can take so long but it gets there eventually. I hear you on the cooler weather and hot cider! Love hot cider.

DH got the job he wanted, yay! We're driving down to the home office today so he can pick up his company car, biz cards, etc. and then he's going to be hitting the bricks and pounding the pavement for sales. He's excited about this opportunity, he'll be selling fertilizer & chemicals to golf courses...a couple of things he can get really jazzed about. He used to be a golf course superintendent and this will give him a chance to sort of re-connect with all that.

Thanks for asking about us!

That is good news!

I am sorry that you have lost some of your flock! Congratulations on the new position too. And Construction...Oh My.

It is catch 22 being too heavy to walk, which is bad for metabolism and live function and will help with weight loss so that you can walk....Has he tried water exercise? It is very popular with Seniors.

I'm just glad I could glean a little good news out of all those post.
Sorry about your sick flock....And good luck taking care of the parents...so glad about the new jobs...GatorsI could do gators. That would be a blast and a friend of mine has a Cajon eatery in Marquette. The alligator is yummy...taste like chicken...haha

Good for your husband/you. Does that mean you do not have to move?

Boy, I leave you characters alone for one evening and BAM! New jobs, promotions, losing birds, hip replacements, birthday parties and.....and....what else? I know I missed something somewhere along the line.....oh, yeah, construction, water leaks, apple cider, alligators, and walleyes! I'm exhausted! I need a nap!

When we lived in Mississippi on the Sioux Bayou, we had a huge tropical storm, Beryl, come through. Stupid storm! It bobbled east to west along the coast for a couple of days, first hitting Louisiana, then blowing to Alabama - back and forth, back and forth! And of course since we were in the middle, it was just one continuous drenching with howling winds for us. Heavy rains trigger something in gators that make them move (I was learning the feeling!) and one night I was in my room and Kenny was in his when we heard this awful roar. Then we heard it again! He came out of his room and I came out of mine - we met in the middle and ran to the living room. Kenny opened the front door and there on our sidewalk was a gator. An enormous gator. An enormous, grouchy gator. The next morning he was gone. But we heard that a guy who lived down the street found him. Seems he was going to work and backed out of his driveway. The gator took exception to this and attacked the guy's Camero. The Camero lost.
