My leukemia's back.

Has anyone heard from Suzie?
I think she had surgery last week?
I hope she is doing better.
Hope is sometimes the only medicine that keeps us going.

Hugs to you all.

Good morning all. Getting ready for work. Hope Suzie's surgery went well and recovery is going well.

Have a good day. Have to use the netti pot before I go to work. Ugh!

I finally got over decades of sinus infections with the nasal washes and allergy shots... The worse part of the wash for me was hours later... bending over and all this water shooting out of my nose.

I hope you are feeling better soon!

Rachel. Sorry you're having a hard time with your breathing.

Hope the Pulm Doc can set you back on a good course. This winter has been a brutal one for my family. Lots of illness, but nothing like some of Rachel and team are going through.

11* here this morning. Wind gusts up to 50 MPH last night. We kept the wood stove going.

Eggies are doing well. I weeded out all the ones that I was positive are dead. Rachel, I think I only removed one of yours. I have one lil turkey doing back flips in her egg! The other 3 died. Any ideas how one turkey will survive in my chicken flock???

Today, I resolve to get some seeds planted!

Have to ask - is using a netti pot/doing a nasal wash as horrible and freaky as it seems it would be? I have horrible sinus issues, especially since moving out here - guessing I'm allergic to the, well, everything here - and I've been tempted to try it, but can't get past the thought of purposely putting liquid into my nose......

Yes.
Horrible freaky.
But after awhile you get used to it and you relax and it feels good.
Warm water, and a salt baking soda mix . Rinse do not inhale.
I used a Netti pot until I added warm water on a cold morning and it went *tink*.
then I moved to the Neil med bottle.

The salt B-soda is premixed and in sealed packages. It really does help.
A constant cough from the infection was worse than the headaches.
I hope you feel better soon too.
It takes a while to get used to and for it to work.
I also use it after a dusty job, like mowing. But now I wear a face mask to avoid the worst of it.

It's gross, but doable. I have horrid issues with choking, and fear of choking. Have a hard time swallowing pills for that reason, but am able to use a sinus irrigation bottle. Perhaps I need to start doing so. Still have respiratory issues more than 3 weeks after initial onset of influenza.

Bend your head down into the sink so that water does not hit the back of your throat. rinse from one nostril through to and out the other.
After a while, you will be able to rinse from your nose through your mouth. It just takes a while for your brain to say, "This is okay, this is safe."
It would be like gargling with salt water, your brain is good with that, but when you were a kid and you first tried you gasped and choked and told your parents they were horrible murderous people for even suggesting the idea. (or at least, that was my son's first reaction.)
Now we all rinse and it shortens the colds and flu by days for them, months for me.
