My leukemia's back.

Good morning Team Rachel! I picked up a bouquet of flowers this morning...pick one out and pass them along.

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Skimmed through a few pages but was curious to know how everything turned out. My dad just spent a month in the hospital for his initial treatment. Now he is getting ready to head back to get ready for his transplant. His original donor backed out but doctor's decided I was a good enough match. So will be starting the prep process Thursday for them to take bone marrow stem cells from me on Monday. Kind of nervous, hope it works.

Oh wow!
Great little support group here, be happy to hold your hand or let you vent or cry or whatever the case may be. Best of luck to you and your dad.

It may have declined similarly if it had been left alone, and stayed single payer.
Health care in the USA has NEVER been single payer.
If you were VERY VERY poor - Medicaid
If 65+ - Medicare
If you worked for a big company they are a big "pool" with a lot of pull with the insurance and pharmaceutical companies and got a "discounted rate".
Everyone else - better be really rich because individuals and "small" pools with NO pull paid the highest rates for insurance, drugs and at medical care facilities. They have to recoup the cost of those "big pool discounts" somehow. Except very few of the people in this category are really rich.

Don't know how long Blooie's cruise is/was. Been 14 days since her last post so hopefully she'll be back soon and overload us with pictures and "tales" of the trip and how much her grandkids loved it.

@donrae, I'm a brand new member and your post caught my eye. I don't know where you are in your treatment but as a fellow CML survivor/warrior/fighter/whatever, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please, anyone who is interested, check out "Be The Match" at https://bethematch.org/ You never know whose life you can save by donating marrow or cord blood. There is never enough to meet the need!
