We made an appointment, and went to see the principal today. She had the vice principal in with her. Later she called in the teachers, then she called in my grandson. It went well, and we got a lot ironed out. They are aware there are major issues with his iReady program, and his Renaissance Reading program. It's all being worked on, which is why he hasn't been allowed his computer time, but they failed to tell him, or anyone else, so it appeared they were singling him out.
The teachers have been made very aware, by everyone involved, of the need to communicate more information, and with more frequency, and have agreed. A couple issues involved the teachers not having fully explained their protocols. He was used to doing things a certain way for his other teacher, and these teachers do things somewhat differently. They didn't bother explaining their new protocols to him. That was remedied today.
His teachers informed the principal that my grandson is already at 3rd. grade level in everything. They scheduled him for an evaluation to be done next week. After the evaluation, we will be updated, and decisions will be made on how to best proceed.
Blooie, at least twice I remembered what you said, and refrained from sarcasm, or being a smart aleck. I put pressure on when needed, then slacked off when it was not needed. I kept in mind that it wasn't a blame game, but about correcting the problems. I knew I needed to enlist their cooperation to do their best for my grandson. I think that was achieved.
