You should know soon.Okay guys, just sitting around wondering if I am going to get salmonella or worse. Didn't feel like cooking today. So bought a hefty smoked turkey leg. I have gotten them before at other stores and apart from hating the smokey taste, they were okay.
At lunch I was multitasking eating slices off the leg (very hard to slice by the way and meat not looking smooth like I remember it being but, doing my word find puzzle book and talking on the phone.
At some point I realized the turkey didn't taste like turkey or smokey, the color of meat was wrong, etc. and maybe it wasn't cooked. Got out a pair of reading glasses and read the tiny label saying to cook to 165 degrees etc. WTH, I figured if it was smoked it must have been cooked.
This was too much to contemplate when I have a perpetual lack of sleep. So I took a nap.I just got up. My question is if I get salmonella or worse how long does it take to show up? I know I am a person at high risk due to age, dumbness and other factors.
If I am going to be plagued with the "trots," vomiting etc. I guess I shouldn't go out shopping this weekend. What say you?
PS still off of ice cream - doesn't bother me at all- jeans keep falling down- good except my new ones (several pair) are too big now![]()
Within 24hrs of consumption I would think.
