I can only say I understand your hubby.... I'm not much of a social butterfly either. My prayers go out to all of you.![]()
I see my Dad slipping away a little more every time I visit. But, sitting in the recliner all day watching TV is not the best way to keep your mind sharp... At least he still gets up and mows the lawn once a week, but he has arthritis in his hip so bad it is tough for him to walk too much.
On another note - We are going to a "cousins" party this evening. Not quite sure how I feel about it. My one cousin is a drunkard and I have never liked being around her, but my other cousin is a sweetheart and was always very nice. I guess that is called Tit-for-Tat. Their whole family are very outgoing and loud, I am fairly quiet and reserved. And to top it off, my DH is being quite the butthead about going "I always feel like an outsider and left out of the conversation. POUT POUT" I have told him if he didn't want to go, he didn't have to, but he insists on coming. At least my brother-in-law will be there so they will be able to keep each other company if I abandon my DH.
I found that I lost all my hair with chemo.... Except the little bit on the top of my head..... Them hairs must be the toughest hairs on my head.... They are still hanging on even after the rest have falling out.Mine didn't get bad until it all fell out with chemo, then came back in. It had a lot more silver, with the white streaks. It was not unattractive. This last time, it came in darker, with a lot less gray. To be honest, I like the silver with white streaks better than now.
Sorry brother.....My friend Jerry is no longer suffering. I received a call this morning that he had died during the night. I knew it was imminent as he sent me the registration papers on the pups that I am raising for him. I had hoped to see him this weekend.![]()
My hair used to be straight..... After chemo it's been curly. Never went straight again...
Dad was drafted during the Korean War. Apparently his curly hair came back straight after 2 years of buzz cuts. But eventually it got curly again.
Good for you.....My hair has gone from gray to what I call snow/silver. I love it and I'm letting it grow. I always had my hair very short. Now it's below my shoulders and I look in the mirror every time I get the chance.
Plus it curls up at the ends-wow
Maybe part of my issues stem from not being able to be a “Coco Puffs Gramma”, a phrase one of my cousins used one time that stuck with me. That’s the kind of Gramma I always envisioned being when the time came.
See, a Coco Puffs Gramma has Gramma privileges. Imagine that the grandkids are staying there and they ask, “What’s for dinner?” Gramma says, “Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans.” The grandkids groan that they don’t like meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. A Coco Puffs Gramma gets to tell them, “Well, we’ll just fix you a bowl of Coco Puffs then. Don’t tell your mom.” And they giggle together. Me? I had to say, “Tough. Eat your meatloaf.” Yeah, like that.
