She was devastated, and to get that news as she was in the advocate’s office digesting the words “malignant” and “cancer” and “biopsy” was a punch in the gut. Piper got her through every hard time she’s ever had in her adult life. When she owned the shop, Piper went to work with her every day and politely greeted every customer before going back to her mat behind the counter. She went everywhere with Little Diane. She asked me, “Gramma, how am I going to go through this without Piper?” I had no answer. What a mess! Sorry about her animals, that's so sad.
She’s made of pretty tough stuff. She got through her mother abandoning her here and all of the subsequent court hearings, being a runaway for over a month, her and Dustin’s divorce, a serious motorcycle accident, her kidnapping and brutal assault…..I just want to be with her and hold her right now, but there’s nothing I can do to help her through this crisis. <sigh>I understand the character thing..
But wow...what heartache and stress on top of the cancer news.
