Everyone: I found out Fern, is a Fred! In their words, Fern is actually a drake.
I noticed that Fern's tail feathers were curled, was getting green feathers on her head (she's half Rouen), and stater quaking a masculine quack. So I looked up pictures of Rouen males, and Fern's feathering is very similar. Good thing I didn't name him Honeysuckle. I almost did but since I didn't know if Fern was male or female I decided Fern would be better. That was close! Oh well, now I'll just have to call him Fern Boy now (used to call him Ferny).
