My little flock!

Hi Rei! How are your chicks doing? :)

Hi Rene! Its great to hear from you. They are doing really well. Its been pretty warm here but they seem to be hanging in there. Planning on adding some electrolytes to their water today for an extra boost!

We still have the grow out pen set so I let them out of the coop yesterday to free range for a couple hours and they were pretty happy about that! Hopefully we will have a run built by end of summer. Life has kept us pretty busy!

I'll get some pictures uploaded right now!

I'll try to take some more today while they are out and about!

Thank you so much! I cant wait until they start laying! They are 9 weeks old now so hopefully in a couple months :D I need to hop over to your page. I've been pretty busy lately and haven't been able to keep up much on BYC.

I figured that you'd been busy...I've missed you! I'm looking forward to your egg basket too! 💞

I was offline for a little over a week, but I'm making up for it now...lol! I got my first eggs yesterday! My first batch of hens are about 17.5 weeks now, the other 2 are15.5 weeks! One egg was very nice sized & the others were a bit smaller! Here's a picture of the 4 I got, but you'll see more about it on my page!

I'm so excited that I have a green egg, not sure if it was my Sapphire Olive Egger or one of my EE's...I can't wait to see what the other hens will be laying! I almost wonder if one of the smaller tan eggs came from the Welsummer that laid the larger egg as I think it was pretty big for a first egg...I guess I'll never know!

Wow, so exciting!! They definitely laid around the age everyone says they do! I love the green egg. I'm curious what you will get from the others. Maybe one of your EEs will lay a blue egg :love

That does seem like a rather large egg from a first time layer 🤔 it definitely looks like a Welsummer egg too.

I'm really hoping for a Blue egg in my basket...if it doesn't happen, I'm going to try and get a Cream Legbar next year!

Yes, I'm sure it's one of my Welsummers...that's exactly what the are supposed to look like...but then again...you never know!

Hi, Rene! I was going to mention something yesterday and forgot. Yes, I'm starting to think she is a pullet :yaThe comb and wattles haven't gotten any bigger or redder either. She is very slow to feather out though. You can still see a bit of down poking through. I think Brahmas mature slower than other breeds? I will hop over there and take a look at the picture! Thank you!

I'm so excited for you! I don't think they had a picture, just the information... :) I've also heard that they mature slower, I can't wait to see her full grown! 💞
