My Little Ladies

Hi everyone . I'm so excited to finally be able to say I have chickens! My journey started HERE with building my coop and run. And today the ladies arrived!

So let me do the introductions

My two Azure Blues
Edouard Moony Scissorhands

and Betty White

My Rhode Island Reds
Willamina

and Matina

and my Barred Rocks
(sleepy) Gertrude

and George

George appear to have a slight cross beak, but it doesn't stop her from asserting herself as Big Mama in charge.

It's been raining on and off all day so we've all been hanging out inside the coop. Betty White and Willamina have already been eating treats out of my hand. (treats will be few and far between)

I finally got George and Willamina convinced that the outside isn't horrible. Hoping the rest follow suit soon.

Why spread out, when you can squoosh into a 5 pullet cuddle puddle instead?

Silly babies are afraid of the outside world. So I used tough love and locked them in the run.

They know how to use the feeder and at least one knows how to use the waterer. I'm going to need to set up another feeder though, because the BRs and RIRs won't let the ABs anywhere near the food.

Day 3 and all of them put themselves to bed properly.
