Great pool action! - Wait there is another thing that you don't know about ducks: They will do the same water-games during the cold season, even during frost!
So you better get your hands on some Ice-Grippers for your boots or you will find yourself unexpectedly sitting on your lower back, sliding down the hill with your ducks laughing at you.
Oh me! Luckily it doesn’t get cold enough, for long enough, for ice to form. On the rare occasion when it snows and the temp gets into the 20’s, with the wind chill in the teens, we might have ice, but it’s usually on the roads only. We mostly have 2 to 3 weeks of pretty cold weather. It’s mostly the dang wind chill that kills me!

I feel for y’all who have to put up with the frigid temps...and take care of livestock. I lived in Massachusetts and Alaska and the snow was fun...as a kid...but there are too many extra responsibilities that cold brings when you are an adult.

We (DH and me) always said, “You’ve gotta believe, or Santa won’t come!”
That's what my mom would say. Lol
And it does suck when you see them find out the truth. My 11 year old was the worst because he's been fully believing until last year when he was 10. My cousin dressed up as the bunny and all the kids went nuts, including my 10 year old until my 5 y.o. nephew took off the mask and the kids faces went from 🤣😂😆🤣 to 😮😧 my oldest boy was the worst, you could tell that he felt fooled and that bugged me.

That's really cool (pun intended)!

Would you like to borrow some cold enough from me?

We never told our kids there was no Santa or Easter Bunny. As far as I know they still believe in them.

The kids are 43 and 40, I assume we will have to tell them soon.

And that's what your duckies are waiting for! - Once it is cold enough, they will get into their pool (somehow dux-pools never freeze), soak their feathers, run to your porch and brush the water out with their bills. Guess what happens when you leave the house next time…
