My Love Affair With Ducks...

Pics
Dear Lord! They would use duck poop if that would extend that "shelf life"!!!
I'm more and more convinced to produce as much of what i eat myself!
Industrial food turns more and more into a witches brew…
I agree, the food we by in stores is probably the reason we have so much cancer and health problems. And all the chemicals that farmers put on the crops also contribute. But realistically most people can not produce their own food. Plus it's a nice and easy to just buy our products. I do grow some food in my garden but not enough to survive on. My chickens probably eat better than me!

Everyone in my immediate family has bad allergies. My oldest son has severe asthma and was hospitalized in December with double pneumonia. (I really think he had a case of the Corona virus.)
I don't have severe asthma but I do have it. Before my meds. I would be extremely dizzy 24 hrs a day, like having bad bed spins from a night out. I could not walk a straight line or move my head. My heart would beat really fast, my skin would peel off my face to the point there would be a little blood, my ears rang so bad I could not sleep, my head was in a fog I could not think straight or concentrate, I was so weak I could hardly make the bed. I went to many doctors that couldn't figure it out, even the ear nose and throat doctor. I finally went to my Doctor I used for female things and told her if some one didn't figure it out I was going to blow my brains out. She told me to try Benadryl because it is more for the head and my dizziness was the worst thing. I tried it and my dizziness went away in about a hour. I still need all my other meds but Benadryl is the med. that made the biggest impact.

Don't have fire ants where I live. But the mosquitos can carry you away. Some summers are so bad I run screaming and yelling from my vegetable garden all while choking on a mouth full of the rotten no good for nothing pests!😫 My sister in law is from Mississippi, she used to say they had bad mosquitos, went there for a visit when she and my brother still lived there and never noticed 1 mosquito. Don't know if there was any or if they were so much smaller than here in Minnesota that I didn't notice them. I live in a rural community by a river and have a pond so I know what mosquito hell can be. People who live in cities have no clue.
oh oh oh, soapbox time again for me. Sawyers family or time release insect repellent lotion. The one with deet. You get it on amazon. No smell, it's a lotion so no oily and it never gets in my mouth as somehow cutter and off always seem to do. The deet is supposedly suspended in little beads which are not absorbed by the skin. All I know is it works great no smell and you don't know you have it on. Recommended to me by a tropical disease doctor before I went to India, cause you could wear it in the office and with nice clothes.

This is great. I’m already training them and didn’t even know I could. When I take them outside or to the bath, I put them in a small pet carrier (gonna have to change it out for a bigger one soon). When I get ready to take them back inside, I put them in one at a time. Over the several days I’ve been doing this it’s gotten to where I can just kind of ‘herd’ them in with my arm/hand. I’ll be honest, I was kind of amazed that they did it. When we get back inside I set the carrier down into their brooder and they file out.

About the eggs, I guess I will have to have straw for them. I’m sure my little nest pads I use for the chickens won’t work.
Already learning! :love Ducks are way easier than chickens - that's like herding cats :th

Actually I know that whole bit about a dog's mouth being cleaner than a humans is not true.🤣
But I like to believe it is.
Wow. I could never follow all the healthy guidelines! I don't mind dog saliva at all, I even share water with my dog when we're out so I only have to bring one thermos and I'm not dead yet
