Everyday, the ducklings venture a little farther away from their pen when I open the fence, but the big coop is as far as they’ve gone. Of course though, they do have to make a pit stop to poop in the chickens’ water tub.

She is molting heavy! She wants to be a grown up duck asap, because grown up ducks have all the fun!

Hey there HillBilly! Thank you for asking about all the gang. I have been sooooo bad lately about not posting anything and I’m ready for all the rest of my life to just calm the heck down. Our mare is really, really sick and the vet isn’t quite sure what is wrong, so she has required my attention morning through night. Just dealing with her wears me slap out!

I still spend a good portion of my day out with ALL the birds: ducks, chickens, a broody with eggs, a broody with chicks, a broody that just dumped her chicks, and two broodies in the broody breaker! The dang hen hormones are about to drive me crazy.

The ducks are absolutely adorable and have stolen my heart. They are definitely water lovers! It’s amazing to watch them interact with water, no matter the source. I let them venture out and about whenever they feel like it and dang if they don’t find every water hole imaginable! Poor chickens.

It’s funny, but they have started running over to the big coop when I call the chickens in the evening and throw out a little scratch. I throw a little their way, but they turn and hightail it when the chickens run out after what I throw.

MK is doing just fine and still loving the ducks and chickens. He stays over here at the house with his Mimi and Pops a good bit so he is always around to help me in any way he can. He’s still young and learning, but can be a huge help at times.

Tomorrow I will upload some more pics and/or videos. I’ve shied away from too many more videos because once you’ve seen a few they’re all the same. But I do want to take some good pictures (if that’s even possible) showing their colors. Well, Petey definitely won’t win the beauty contest, but maybe win The Loudest or The Biggest Eater contest. Today when I was holding Quinny, I noticed some of her wing feathers had the prettiest BLUE on them! They were gorgeous! I wasn’t expecting that.

Anyway, that’s all I have for tonight! But I’ll be back tomorrow!
