My lovely yellow goldens.

Today was a bit interesting. I really had to tell them off. šŸ˜…

The girls were having a dispute again, nothing violent but chirping away as I came out at lunchtime. Wee Buttercup jumped onto my shoulder as she likes to do to get away, but I soon had Dandelion on the other arm and with my head in the middle I did NOT feel like getting pecked in the eye (or anywhere for that matter).
Quite obviously I was considered a resource at the moment and it took me a few times firmly putting them back on the ground before they got the message and stopped perching on me.
It's alright to come and hang out but no battle royal close to my face - thank you very much ladies!

Storming tonight with high winds and some rain. I know they will be fine, they have a three wall shelter with roosts plus house on the ground, but i always worry about them.
It is also still ten degrees C outside, so not cold at all.

Note to self to never again get a pet you can't bring inside the bedroom.
I can't remember being thie neurotic when I kept horses! šŸ˜…

Of course they were fine last night, and they really don't seem to mind the Scottish winter at all. Here is Prim, contemplating life, the universe and everything on this very grey and dour December evening. Looking out over his domains.

He sure is getting there, and always putting on a show. ā¤ļø The guests at the hotel love them!
My Goldens are always displaying, the hens could care less....you have to be careful though, sometimes they will harass a hen until she dies. Lots of places to hide and out of the way perches help the hens to avoid their amorous admirer.

That's why I am so happy I have three hens! He doesn't seem to favour any special lady so far and I hope it stays that way. There are also a lot of different levels and hides for them, I will be adding more in the new area this week as well.

Little Buttercup actually prefers to hang with him since the other two girls can be rough on her.
Not even close to as bad as they used to be though, she finally has a completely full set of feathers incuding the "drape" that goes over the tail.
