All the birds are doing good, but we're expecting quite severe snow and cold (for Scotland) after the weekend so I think I'll put some extra shelter up just to make sure they do keep dry.
I don't think the cold will bother them att all as long as they don't get themselves soaked, and snow over here is unfortunately almost always sleet.
At least there are no warnings for high winds.

As long as they are dry, not in muddy conditions they can handle cold, and very inclimate conditions.
Sometimes mine stay out in the cold rain all night, instead of getting under the sheltered area and make it through ok.

Thank you, that makes me feel better about it.
I know most of the time I'm just being a mother hen ( ;) ) but I had such a hard time with them when they were chicks that I think I'm a bit traumatized! 😅 And of course I want them to thrive.

There's 2 times when it's traumatizing, when their chick's and at 'end of life'! either by predation or disease or other reasons.
Although I don't get overly attached to my birds I still grive when they pass.

Turns out we only got a sprinkle of snow and then, as per usual, a bunch of rain. Bah!
The birds did fine though, and I pimped their shelter with some cozy branches they really enjoyed. Today we also got decent light so I could take a few photos.

Prim and Buttercup.
