My lovely yellow goldens.

Pics
Yeah, they will have some color their 1st year but it will take 15 to 18 months or even 24 months before they will have their adult plumage. Mine usually have their adult plumage by 14 to 16 months.
I know and I keep telling people this when they ask "when will they actually be golden?", but I am still delighted with the bright orange hues. :) I didn't expect them this early!

Daffodil looking lovely. The females are also stunning, especially close up.

im sorry im new to pheasants , what is the difference in raising them vs chickens ?
The stress! 😅
Just kidding - these are my first so I'm not sure what to tell you. They are a lot more flighty and seem a LOT more sensitive as young.
Mind you, my only experience as chicken keeper is the pet chickens we kept when I grew up but I remember them as very straightforward and uncomplicated animals. The needs of the pheasants are a lot more specific, but more experienced keepers can tell you a lot more I'm sure.

I just know that I am far too invested in and attached to mine. ❤️

The females really don't get enough love in photos and posts, I think they are so pretty! Managed to get this snap of Dandelion and Daffodil in the bath today.

Some hens are actually prettier than some males, or their feather pattern is.
