My lovely yellow goldens.

I just wanted to show you this - the lady to the left is Daffodil, she is the one that flares and also hisses sometimes. Thought she was a male for the longest time but obviously she is female.. just a really dominant one. Is this common? :)
All the ladies were upset with each other today, I have no idea why.

OMG adorable! I know nothing about pheasants and I didn't know that they were friendly and sociable like chickens!:D
Far from as easygoing as the chickens and ducks I've kept, I've spent a Lot of quality time with these guys to get where we are... but they are great! I didn't expect it either to be fair.
Absolutely in love with them now. 🥰

Are you going to breed them? :)
Edit: actually nevermind lol, they are probably relatives 😅

No, that is not a plan. Not just because of eventual relations... I'm also still exhausted from last spring! 😅 We'll be taking the eggs away when they start laying.
Feels like a shame for them but here we are. <3

Yeah, it's common behavior...I usually don't have a clue which one starts it nor why? You may have to sperate them if it escalates. Sometimes they get along fine for years, then the next day it's all out war!

Thank you! They seem settled again today, I hope it was just one of those things where something upset them. Every time we get a milder than usual day they seem to be a bit all over the place. 🙂
I will also open up the new larger run for them tomorrow and hopefully that will prevent them from getting on each others nerves.

I have made the cutest, fluffiest friend. He comes at feeding time to hang with me and the pheasants and seems to be doing well on the high protein diet. 😁
