I’ve been saving my bourbon reds eggs for the last week or so and today got back into town to get the ones I missed the last few days and found her wanting to sit. Got her moved to her personal box gave her her other 8 eggs and she’s doing her things. She hatches out a couple batches a year for me she been a great mama hen. Now I gotta find something to stuff in the incubator I been running a week getting steady readings on lol.

Trying to break her but her and silkie have decided to team up and sit on anything they can get under them. My toms only 2 years old of course like most I don’t see them doing the deed but I’ve seen my blue hens back feathers out of place. She also isn’t laying yet. Maybe it’s a still a few weeks to early.

I do have some chicken eggs 2 weeks out from hatching. I dunno if I should give her those let her sit and hatch then take them or keep throwing her off the nest.

I have waited until 4 days before they hatch and then give them to the broody. Mine tend to break chicken eggs. Most of mine are good chicken mom's, but I do have one that kills chicks as they hatch.... another keeps her chickens until she hatches more. Last year the years before was sleeping on top of the nest box.
