My mail lady did a drive by drop off!!!!!

It was something through all of this that I knew but forgot to say. Eggs are very stinky when they are opened and just left. I am going to open one of my eggs and do a test to see exactly how long it takes for 1 eggs to smell, nevermind 10+!! Thanks for all your support!!! And the "mail master" telling me to lie to my kids just proves once again who the liar REALLY is!!!

Your boys are too handsome/cute!

I will say, the difference between this person and a good postale worker...when a good postal worker gets reprimanded or a complaint, they go out of their way to do better. This one sounds like they're getting WORSE, not trying to make things better. Personally, even when I *know* I'm in the right, I apologize and try to give better service, even if I hadn't done anything wrong to begin with.

As far as this

I'm sorry you've obviously had bad experiences with postal workers, but lumping them all together like this is a seriously incorrect generalization. If I even think a package won't fit in to a box or it's marked fragile or I know they're excitedly expecting it, I hand deliver it to their door. The only time I don't get out is when there's a dog that is threatening.

When I went down to the P.O. to pick up my boxes/eggs, the box with the two broken eggs didn't smell, BUT, because they broke in transit, the yolk had time to soak into the cardboard of the box and so it was obvious something got smushed, and had been for a while. The post master recommended over-nighting eggs because those packages are all dealt with by hand, but stuff that goes into priority mail gets processed through the post office machines. So even if it says fragile on the outside, it may still get booted around while being processed.

Cute kiddoes!

That was not me who stated that, and in preious posts, I talk about some of my mailman friends from the town I used to live in. They are not all lazy. As a matter of fact this is the first time I have ever had a problem. Only this mail carrier, who gives all of us on the street everyone elses mail, which is something I can live with, but throwing my package out the window is unacceptable! And you are right, I would have apologized also. But she did not. Thanks, Chrissie

I just received my eggs I bought from L&S and not one was broken, it was shipped Priority Mail from Washinton to Massachusetts, clear across the country with no problems. The problem here was from the box being thrown from a window of a moving vehicle. And I would like to mention that I bought 6 Barred tailed Japanese eggs and she threw in an extra egg, an EE so that was very sweet!!!! Thanks L&S Chickens!!!

Okay, so I took some pics, the first is of the mailbox she was at when I saw her, then I ran to meet her, you can see the driveway, which leads to a flea market next door, and theres a pic of that too, because that is how she drove when she didn't stop!

There is also a picture of the step that the package hit, before landing on its side. I live in a duplex , so I am on the left side, this step is not even mine, it is on the right!!!

Not where I live. We're on a rural route where the carrier is not supposed to get out of the vehicle (from what I was told) but ours goes out of her way to make sure things get delivered safely. When I ordered eggs I got a call on my answering machine at home, then they called my husband at school since they know he works there. He called me on my cell and I was able to go to the PO to pick up my eggs which were being held off to the side.
I really wish this had been baldie's experience too.

I know I shouldn't speak for Asher but I don't think she was saying that you had written that Baldie. : )

I figured she didn't mean me, but I wanted to make sure that everyone knew this was not meant to be a P/O bashing thread. Thats all. I didn't take it personally. There are a lot of pages on here now. So I figured I would post that to help people catch up. Thanks!! Chrissie

I wish it was my experience too. This didn't have to turn into all of this. But once I was being called a liar, and didn't recieve an apoplogy, it changed everything. The $$$ part stinks too. The eggs only cost $13, but then I paid another $12 to have some other eggs delivered to replace the broke ones. AND thankfully LURKY a woman on here was generous enough to send me some of her own eggs for Nothing. She would not accept my money, so I sent her a thank-you card with a little surprise!! She was too nice to go out of her way for us!! I am still in shock that someone would do that. There truly are wonderful people in this world. Thanks, CHrissie
