I caught a wild BS peahen and my dog ran up to the fence and startled her and she flew over my males head and into the netting. Now he is attacking her, he is jumping up and kicking her and plucking her feathers and swallowing them. My other peahen is just on the ground eating bread like nothing is happening, while my male is attacking her. What should I do? Or is this normal for males to do when around new peahens??? Now they are both up on the 7ft perch just sitting there! What is going on???

Anyone know what is going on?????

Mine is doing the same thing. He chases her until she goes up on the perch. A few minutes later they are both basking in the sun - go figure! I thought he was trying to kill her or something but he didn't. I do know she is due to lay an egg, he chases her around the igloo house I put in there for her to nest in.

Oh good, at least it isn't just me, I thought he was gonna kill her too. I was gonna be so mad if he killed her because I spent days trying to catch that one just for him

while I was chasing her I also found another one on a nest of 4 eggs!!! This town is going to be overrun with peacocks
