hi so i have 6 quail. 2 boys and 4 girls. one of my males is very aggressive and the other is pretty passive. the digressive one is barred of from the other birds by a net, but is still able to see and hear them. What i'm wondering is why they aren't crowing. It is breeding season and i'm getting fertile eggs. yet I'm hearing no crowing. Not that I like their crowing that much, I was just wondering if something is wrong.

Their crows sound like a snotty sneeze to me, LOL!

You would think your seperated boy would crow out of frustration, not being able to access the girls. And having another male present would only spur crowing, you would think.

As long as they're mating and your eggs are fertile I wouldn't worry - I have one boy that crows sometimes but my other male hardly crows. How old are your boys? Mine have crowed less with age (they're about 10 months old now lol).

X2! Last year my males crowed a lot, but this year they hardly ever crow.

I just read online that some will crow, others won't, some will crow all the time, and others some of the time. I guess it just depends on the bird.
