It looks pretty good to me; the birds are obviously the focus of the site. Some of the photos' backgrounds are really busy, which can be a bit of a design issue, from what I've heard. If you ever have a ton of free time on your hands, I'd recommend using an image editing program to blur the background in a few photos, but if you aren't up for the annoyance that comes with that, a darker brown panel behind the photos might look cleaner too.

That's one of the things I couldn't put my finger on- yes, those backgrounds need to be blurred. Do you know of an easy to use image editing program that's free? I have Gimp and can't get the hang of it, so I just use Paint.

Honestly, GIMP was the one I use, and would recommend. It's a baffling piece of software at first, but it really is pretty powerful once you figure out how to tell it what you want. There are a fair number of good tutorials for it too, as I recall.
