My Mother's Cancer. She has passed. 1/28/2011

They scheduled some sort of screening today to see how far reaching the cancer is I think and to check and see if it has entered any of her other organs. I am guesing they will give her those results on Thursday at the oncologist visit.

My 20 year old son now knows and he took it harder than any of us I think. He is very very close to his "Nee Nee". That worries me and my Grandmother I believe is in the early stages of alzheimers as she can't hardly complete a sentence due to not being able to think of the words or follow a thought completely through. She is always worse when upset so that is also a big concearn for me.
I'm praying and trying to keep all the pieces together and my family uplifted but it's not easy. I so much appreciate the outpouring of concearn and all the thoughts and prayers you all have sent.

Thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart.

Well, the news is positive I think. They said that they don't see any other organs that are effected by the cancer just yet but that there are a few limphnodes near her stomach that look suspicious and they want a few more tests to make sure that they know for sure the extent before starting treatment.
She is scheduled for a pet scan and some type of scan where they go down into the stomach and scan around the probe in a complete circle. They said it gives a much more clear and detailed image of the damage.
After that she goes to Emory for surgery and then will recieve radiation and kemo.
My fingers are crossed that the final analysis shows there is no further damage and that they have caught this early on.
