Those babies got bigger and bigger! They would hang out in the back room where we would come over to check them out. They would get on the chair and check US out.
AND they had names like we did.
Left to right: Charlotte, Maudette, Audrey and Tallulah.
Mom finally decided to put them out in their own run with our old coop and attached it to our current run. So we were together, but apart. This was good for us to get used to them. It went this way (without any of us getting out to forage) for a while. In late May we were all let out to forage the backyard and figure out our status etc. We treated the younger ones with respect and discipline like we should....Oh a peck here and there was expected. We all got along fine. Then eventually Mom had us all together in the "big coop". But she made a hole in the run into the other run so the "babies" could come in to the big run and the big girls could go into the baby run and they can get to know each other and have more space to run around during the day. AND get acquainted.
This was the connection she made:
But we got along fine, every once in a while there would be a chase here and there, what fun! Those babies got bigger and started to hang out in "our" run when we went walking about.
The nerve!
