Grandmaof5, I agree with you wholeheartedly. From what I know about irrational people, they are pretty consistent in their impulse behavior. As sad as it sounds, no matter how much time and trouble it costs you, it's imperative you check your yard for hazards and keep those cameras rolling. Our laws are designed to protect us, but they can only punish the guilty after the fact. That won't help you. In this case you have to catch problems before they happen to keep your family and chickens safe. I would be very concerned by his vindictiveness. Jail time or a fine will only make him more determined to 'even the score' with you. I hope he gets the max the law allows, but you're going to have to be 'on guard' for the rest of the time you live beside him. I feel sorry for the situation you are in and hope it all cools down quickly after the penalties are assessed. If it is a felony to move survey markers, I think I'd do my best to get that on camera so when the legal system hits him it will be a wake up call not a slap on the wrist.

Surely you've seen by now how many of us sympathize and welcome you to BYC. There's a lot to be learned here and tons of support when you have chicken issues. Besides that, we cheer each other on when good things happen! So hang in here and you'll see the best of us.

Now that my chickens are out again, and walking around. I do believe one did get hurt from the throw. He's limping. Remember, this guy had held them by they're legs, and turned them upside down, and throw them into the street. I can't afford a vet, with Christmas passing-(to many gifts for my son). Don't know what to do for him. I did document on video, for court. But I don't him to suffer..............

I would take the injured chicken to the vet where your neighbor works. Make shure you tell the whole story.........................................
Then ask if you can use the neighbors employee discount...... Carma
