My nephew and his wife need prayers tonight ( great news and a request)

They moved the babies to the childrens NICU and mom and dad in a room there too. One baby is struggling with breathing but they are confident its just because he was so early. They are only 33 weeks. Hopefully 5 to 7 days and they will be home.

I'm glad the babies are o.k. How's mom? Keep us posted, please.

Didn't get to see them today. I was busy cleaning their house and getting things ready. My nephew had surgery and apparently has a severe staph infection so their entire house and everything he touched has to be sanitized. Lots of fun. He is still at the hospital with mom. They have him getting meds and washing down like a mad man. Shocked they are letting him but I guess its ok. Regardless that means tons and tons of cleaning before anyone can come home.

Mom is doing well. They were going to release her tomorrow but apparently she now as kidney stones and is not eliminating fluids like they want so she is in for longer. There is no date for the babies. Both are off oxygen. The one who was struggling to breathe is doing great. The other baby Stephen ( the one who wasn't moving in the tummy) has jaundice. They took him out from under the lights too soon. They are both sucking on paci's and getting breastmilk via bottle. Thank God they are all doing so well. Thank you guys for your prayers.

Thinking of you all, and hoping like mad that things will start looking up for this family.

Just as a quick update. Baby Stephen is doing great. He is drinking his breastmilk from a bottle. Breathing is good and jaundice is good so far. Garrett has jaundice still, still some breathing issues mostly when they tried to feed him from the bottle. Its looking like he may have to have a feeding tube. Not thrilled but.....They have already said they will be releasing Stephen a good bit before Garrett. The babies were 18 inches 5lbs 4 oz and 20 inches 5lbs 12 oz. Not a bad size for 33 weeks. Its all those banana's she craved lol. They are both still in the NICU but they did move their beds side by side so they could hear each other. Both now cry a bit and apparently stephen even pitches a fit when they take his bottle away. Stephen is the smallest but doing the best.

We got a not so great call. Their poor mom is going to have such a hard time. I don't know how much more she can take. Dad went back in the hospital. Apparently the staph infection is not under control and he has some type of infection in his stomach. They are really struggling with finances because the company responsible for the accident is fighting every single claim. He has insurance supposedly through them but it refuses specialists and medical care constantly. lovely working for unions. Bah Anywho mom is having to run back and forth between hospitals. thankfully they are right across the street from each other and only a block away from the Ronald Mcdonald House. I worry about her under this much strain. She never seemed to be an especially strong person but she is showing her strength now big time. She still can use all the prayers we can give.

Oh, poor woman! Glad the babies are doing well, but mom sounds worrying. I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I could do more, but I'm half a planet away from y'all.
