My new baby brooder.

The finished article! I have installed dual electric sockets for bayonet and screw grip bulbs. I found it hard to buy heat lamps with our standard bayonet fittings.

Have now successfully reared 3 batches of chicks in the brooder, without losing a single one.

I built a small brooder like yours and about the same size. One thing I did different was put 1/2in hardware cloth on the bottom, and between the legs put a poop board with pine shavings on it. It kept the brooder clean and was easy to dump the droppings as necessary.

It will be only used for the first 2 weeks- then they will go out into my bigger brooder shed.

That is an awesome pen.I had made one nothing like that but it did the job. I like things that I seen in yours.The main thing was that it is on legs. Now I have a few questions if you don't mind.How long will you leave them in the bigger brooder shed and how big is it. I'd appreciate it if you could post a picture of it.I'm trying to learn different stags of raising chickens.I'd really appreciate anything you can do.
