Yes but Im a newbie, I have five RIR's and 4 BO's and one BR. I am thinking about getting a couple more BR's on Tuesday a new batch is suposed to arrive at my neighborhood feed store.
One of my new baby girls died last night. I noticed that one wasn't too perky so I took her in the house and held her on my lap on a heating pad. I tried to give her a little sugar water. She died in my lap. So sad. This is the first time I have ever lost a bird. All the other are fine and perky, eating, drinking and sleeping.
I am so sorry! I lost one once. I found her dead in the brooder....she had a limp leg so I was kind of expecting it. It was so sad because the other chick just panicked when I took her out.
I just hate that. It just isn't right for them to go through all that trouble to get here, get hatched out of that tiny egg only to die. I hate it when I order them and they make the whole horrible trip, just to die once they get to a safe place.
