Warden, what type of donkey is he/she? A donkey is going to be next years addition to our farm. I can't believe that sweet thing would consider taking some alfalfa. It must have been someone else!

Diana is a miniature donkey from one of the best breeders in the country. Unfortunately for her and lucky for us, Diana is 1/2 inch too tall to show. So instead of selling for $6,000.00+ we got her for $800.00! She weighs 300 pounds. Her partner in crime is Jack, a mammoth donkey ay 14.1 hands and 700 pounds. They are looking mean here in their winter coats.

Now I can't wait to get the workday over with so I can go back home and see if they fit.

I would LOVE to have the resources you do to build something like this. I'd enjoy every minute. Well, I really do have the resources but don't have a cooperative DH. If it cools down a bit later, I'll go out and throw rocks at my setup. LOL

It's done!!!!

We had the final walk through with the builder this afternoon. We are going to do the exterior paint to match the house which is grey with black trim.

The man-door needs a knob but we'll get one tomorrow.

The inside is ready for paint, I love the rustic barricade on the inside of the barn doors. The builder thought it would help keep them secure even in the 80 & 90 mph winds we occasionally get. I think it fits the viking theme for my Icelandic chickens.

We have one tiny setback. The pop doors got here and they are about 2 inches too tall to fit under the windows so we will have to put them off to the side of the windows instead. Oh well.

Now, who wants to come help me staple a whooooole lotta chicken wire?

YaY!! and aww @ the 2 inches and having to cut thru the foam, is it the door frames themselves that are large ~ or that you want to raise them up from floor level? If the latter I would sacrifice the 2" and make an inner floor frame to keep litter from going out the pop door.

Otherwise

ooh grey/black is nice, are you going to paint the interior too? I like the rustic latch too. You need an awning over the door, and a welcome sign

did you win the lottery? such a nice space

The frame is too big, and it doesn't look like we can cut it down, so we've elected to move them over and chop through the foam

But since we do have to move them I'm going to raise them 2 or 4" above the floor to hold the shavings in.

We are painting the interior, probably white, make it brighter during the winter and cover the wood so I can spray it clean a couple times a year.

I like the awning idea

I like awnings. I have them over some entries of our house and I really appreciate them.

Will be nice bright & white

! Bleh @ the frames being a tad too big, I had to cut thru styrofoam insulation and it is so messy
