I just recently brought a pair of Canada geese home. For the past 3 days since bringing them home they haven't hardly eaten if at all. I have tried layer rations and 2 different types of grower.......rolled oats.......grass and weeds. Are they not eating due to stress and how long can the go on like this I assume soon they will have to eat.........any info would be great.

Geese don't like change so it may take them a while to get adjusted, do they have a kiddy pool to bath in, that may help and until they are eating good get some poultry vitamins to add to their drinking water. But grazing is their biggest joy so if you could give them an area [safe] where they could do some grazing that maybe the biggest why to get them to relax. Just not where they could fly off or walk off and you lose them. Have you tried putting some fresh grass into their water? maybe sprinkling some there would get them started. And do you know what the other owners were feeding them?

Well I have a big area for them to graze but I broke my thumb while building the yard so right now there stuck in one of my chickens yards with a kiddy pool. Once there new yard is done they will have a huge area to swim and graze. They are coming around a little now its more then llikely just the stress of moving I guess. Im just used to my other geese and ducks which gobble down anything that resembles food when it gets close ot them.

Yep probably stress, when we moved out 2 geese from the house they had been using to their new goose house all to them selves, you would have thought we were going to line the up in front of a firing squad they were so upset. after 3 weeks they love their new place.
