I never got a shipping confirmation email so I'm not sure exactly what day they shipped. On the box it said they had hatched on either Wednesday or Tuesday (haha can't remember which) at 1am. They were at the post office by 9:30 am on Thursday. I think they earliest you can expect them is Thursday. I hope that helps!

They are so much fun! I spent over a hour and a half just sitting there watching them play and sleep in the brooder last night.

Isn't it crazy how they just pass out on their little chins to sleep. The first time I saw mine like that I thought the worst had happened, then they heard me an popped up chirping.

that is just tooooo cute. i think mine are coming tomorrow. i'm worried that i've got the light wrong. am i supposed to have a different light for night time? right now, i've just got a 75 watt white light keeping the temp @ 95. i'm ready for the worry to lighten up & the fun begin.

Is the little white one in the first picture a RIR or an EE? Is the whiteness a trick of the camera, or is it really that white? In my order I got EE's and what I believe are RIR males, and I've also got a little white one. I have no idea what she is, going by the numbers she should be an EE. Our babies look darn near identical.

It's an EE. And it's really that white.

I had two yellow/white ones in my batch of 14 EE. I'm really excited to see what they look like when they're grown up! I just love how other EE babies look too. They all are different shades and have different markings on them. I'm really glad I got the EE.

I know! I love how they stand there swaying and then their beak drops. It's so funny!

I have a 250 watt incandescent red heat bulb set up over my brooder. But mine's on the back porch where the temp fluctuates quite a bit and I need the extra heat. Sounds like you should be fine with what you have set up. The important thing is you want the chicks to be able to get away from the light so they can regulate their body temp. I was really worried when I first set up my brooder and had the thermometer under the light. I could not get it to be exactly 95. But once I got the chicks and watched them for awhile I was able to adjust the light so they were spread through out the brooder. So the chicks are really the best sign of whether or not your temp is right. And they should be fine sleeping under a white light. Mine sleep through out the day. They're babies and can sleep where ever and whenever hehe Good luck with your chicks! I hope they arrive safely and are all healthy! And you must post pictures!!
