So... have you decided yet, or are you going to wait until she arrives?

I seriously have to wait to get to know her a bit. I definitely have favorites. Currently Mystic, Dakota, Willow.

I really like the name Dakota (it’s my name)

Is it? The reason I like it is I love state names for horses. I was trying to think of a state to suit a grulla and I thought of the Black Hills and the song Doris Day sings in “Calamity Jane” which movie I’m embarrassed to say I love deeply in spite of its outrageous racism. And I’ve been there and loved the hills and badlands. It’s a great name you lucky thing!

Provided she passes her prepurchase exam and there's no reason for her not to, I will be getting this lovely mare at the end if the month. She is a grulla and I'm looking to change her name. Ideas welcomed.

This sounds facetious but I just want a name that suits her energy but I don’t know what that is yet. But people have suggested many terrific names here. I’ve picked a few I especially like but I may go back and review.

I tend to lean away from humanish names like Bob and such. By her color my first thought would be something like Shadow or Thunderstorm. She’s beautiful.
