Yesterday I had the ducklings out for about half of the day. Towards the end of their outside time, they were peeping a lot, so I thought I would put them back into the building. I decided to give the treat trick a try. Well, it worked to get them out of the pen. But, they werent really following me. I panicked because I thought my husband was out walking with our dog off leash in the woods and wasn't sure when they would show back up. I grabbed Mocha because she is the easiest and most docile at this point and was going to see if they would follow me with her. Nope, they ran the opposite direction.

So, put her in the tall bucket and in the pen. Which she happily climbed out of.

Trying to wrangle the other 3 who were evading me in a group. My husband comes back on the ATV and he didn't have the dog with him. Thank goodness. Apparently he put all the dogs away and I misunderstood. He helped me corral the 3 back into the outside pen and then, I carried thrm one by one back to the brooder (not sure at this point it should be called a brooder

).
Once I picked them up and then had them cradled like a football, they pretty much settled down. Mocha and Blossom are the calmer two. Beanie is crazy. She always thinks I am out to murder her. And, Java Joe is the same, just easier to catch due to his size.
Oh my.
In other news, I started on their playhouse coop.

I won't post the bloody thumb mishap... Lol.
