I found him posted on Craigslist on Sunday. The post stated that he was on his way to being butchered if someone didn't come get him soon. I picked him up the next day! The girl told me his father is Ameraucana and mother is either a Leghorn or Cochin. Both of these hens jumped the fence! Given that his legs are bare, I'm guessing Leghorn. He's approximately 4 1/2 months old. No crowing yet, but I think he likes his new home, despite being in quarantine. I named him Lincoln, and I'm absolutely smitten with him! He was never really handled before, but he's been very gentle and tolerant of me when I touch him. He is so sweet! It must be the breed, because so far I've found EEs to have the best temperament. Thanks for letting me share!

Thank you everyone for the kind words! He's very rugged - nothing like my little piggy pullets! He must have a far different amount of body fat, because I caught him shivering in the rain today. I took him in and gave him some extra attention and warmed him up. He better get used to nasty weather - it gets cold here in NH!
