hatchery quality silkie. This is why I always try to convince people who want to show birds not to try hatchery stock. They make good pets, but just not a good idea for shows.
Huh, so he may not be a mix at all? I wonder what Hatchery he came from. Is the Walnut Comb a genetic mutation that doesn't always show up in Silkies unless they're "well bred"? Whatever he is I don't mind. I don't show my birds and I have an odd mix of birds and if they have chicks I will have an even stranger mix, lol! I'm up for whatever I get

Thanks! I think so too. Definitely not what I was expecting but I am completely fine with that. He came from a friend of a friend who lives in a neighborhood in Santa Fe, I guess you can't have Roosters in town so they were looking to re-home him.
