My new Rosecome roo. Is he any good?

I lost my old (very old

) black Rosecomb roo and so I got a new guy for my hens. I don't know what color this is called and am wondering if he is show quality. His ear lobes are MUCH better then my old roo's were, that is for sure. I am taking 2 of the black hens to a show the first of weekend in May but I didn't have this guy in time to take him.

I dont know if he is any good, I will let someone else judge that but his color is black breasted red.

For some reason I thought he was a brown black or something like that. I could not remember what the man who I got him from called his color.
Black breasted red, good to know!
The man I got him from said when crossed with blacks, I would get both colors. I hope that is true.

Could you be thinking of brown red? Some breeders call BBR black red.

Yeah, brown red. Is that the same a BB red?

Brown red is basically a red version of birchen where the males have some red in the hackle, saddle, wingbow and they have breast feathers that are black with a slight lacing of red.

OK, I am kind of good with horse colors but chicken colors are a work in progress for me.

He's a Brown Red-take a look at that hackle.
He's not as good as your females.
