I wasn't very original when I named my pair. They were Boy Spot and Girl Spot.

Funny story. The Hamburg roo is the only chicken I've ever had fly awayawayaway, over the treetops, and just disappear.
Until the SSH hen 3 1/2 years later vanished last summer.

We keep ours cooped. Otherwise all our juvenile delinquents would be long gone. they fly at my when I go to give them treats. The older hens had their wings clipped when we got them and haven't grown back all the way yet.

Mine are cooped all the time as well. But I did not know that they were such good flyers.

My juvies fly at me the minute I open the coop door. They either want to held or think I have something for them to eat, which is usually the case.

I used to raise BF Hamburgs and they are beautiful birds. I hope to get a few more pullets next year if things goes well for some Spitz crosses.
