My pair of Delawares.....How do they look ? *New Pics Added*

This is ZAXBY JR. & his young hen Lily. Just wondering if I should breed them or not when they both are of age. I could not get him to fold his wing up when I took the pic, and he was dirty....

Am I seeing right? That roo does not appear to have any barring in his tail? His tail looks like a Columbian Rock tail.

He does have a nice deep body, but yeah, his wing carriage is too low. Needs a more rounded breast too. Looks like, from what I can tell, he has a fairly good comb, though.

The pullet clearly has the barring gene, because she has good neck markings and you can see incomplete barring in her tail (ideally, you don't want to see barring in a Del hen's tail, but that one has good enough tail black to breed from). Her back angle looks off, but it may be just the way she's standing in the picture. She looks very young. I can't tell anything about her comb. But from what I can see, she's more of a Delaware than the roo.

I agree. I would say the rooster isn't a pure Delaware, though he's got a nice, deep body.

Hummmm,They came from the same place. I'll have to look at his tail. She is young, Ill try to get better pics.

Well dang, he must be part something else!

He has the marks around his neck, but not on his tail, missed that important part, he he. O well, he's such a pretty boy I'll keep him, I'll have to find her another bo.

Here is lily, she has egg on her face, but you can see her comb.

Sorry, but I still can't see any barring in the roo's tail, and I still can't see the female's comb. I mean, I can see that she has a very small comb, but I can't see any detail at all. I'm assuming that she has a single comb that just hasn't developed yet? I would say this: if you want to breed Delawares, get another roo. He either doesn't have the barring gene at all, or he's heterozygous (only has one copy when he should have two). Either way, I would not breed from him, because he will throw non-barred females.
