My Pea Pen - Irene Took Down!! *UPDATED W/PICS*

My back yard is completely fenced in and I have 4 dogs that leave themselves all along the perimeter, plus I have a fox that also hangs out around the perimeter. All the dogs do not know how to get in or out which is good for me. But the outside tree is farther back and they would have to really jump. When I had a baby skunk in the front yard the dogs were going nuts inside the house. That is the advantage of having pointer and a pit bull

Oh almost forgot, the netting goes around the tree trunks and between them and is very thick because it is a small section and all the excess netting is gathered inside the little triangle of the 3 tree trunks if that makes sense LMAO

Koda,
Remember the crafty raccoons, smelly huge bears, opussums and smelly skunks and red foxes.
Raccoons can dig under the fences and can use their hands to tear a hole in fences or try to find a way to get in your penfowl pen, to make a meal of birds & eggs.
A huge bear could tear up the fence, cause massive damage.

You need electric fences to keep raccoons & bears out, and dig the nettings under fences to keep raccoons out.

Clinton.

Clinton most of us do not worry about bears very much. There are few places which have bears and those that do are usually black bears- her dogs (heck her CATS) can chase off black bears. Just a few years ago there was a black bear treed by a tabby cat here XD Scared spitless of this cat!

Well now I have to restart building it over again. Out of all the trees on my 2 plus acres the only one to do damage was the one I left inside the pen. 3 pieces fell, one completely and the other 2 are still connected to the trunk. Have to figure out how to remove the FIREWOOD! Thank goodness I put everyone in the shed

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH I am so sorry to see this. I hope everyone and everypea is okay. My prayers are with your family.

So sorry to hear of your bad luck. I pray that everyone and all of your peafowl are okay. We live in Northeast Texas in the middle of "Tornado Alley". We are used to them, but experienced Hurricane Rita and Ike a few years back. We had to replace barn tin and fences due to wind and trees.

Try to keep focused on the good things and you will get things back up and running with time.

Sincerely,
Ernie Haire

Wow that is some damage! I'm glad all the peas were safely in the shed too! Good thinking! And a good thing none of the branches smashed into the shed
