My peachicks are dying!

Well, the poop looks ok, no vents are stopped up. They are both still alive, but I just don't know how much of this medicine they are getting. How much do the need? Should I give them some from a dropper or just trust they are drinking enough on their own. Now my little dutch bantam hen is sick too. I feel so helpless right now - and stupid. I feel stupid. I have these animals and it's my job to protect them keep them safe and they are dying!
If you are using corid powder mix it 1 teaspoon per gallon of water. Make sure there is no other water source for them to drink from. Coccidia cannot be transfered from one spieces to another or for example a chicken cannot infect a peafowl nor can a peachick infect a chicken. So you are not stupid so do not feel stupid either. Best to just treat everyone. Treat for 3-4 days. Do not squirt anything into the mouths, let them drink it by themselves. You can push the beaks into the water to help them drink. After the 3 days then worm them all. I use safeguard liquid for goats at 3cc or ml per gallon, again be sure it is the only water available to them and wash out water container everyday and add a fresh wormer mix for 3 days. You will repeat the wormer 14 days later again for 3 days. Hope this helps and like 6littlechickies stated they should be on a hardware cloth bottom instead of the ground. Be sure the baby peas are feed a medicated chicken starter cause this feed prevents coccidia. Good luck with the little ones and sorry for the ones you lost

Ok, I've upped the Corid from 1/2 tsp per gallon to 1 tsp per gallon. I am using the 20% power, but I've ordered the liquid and it should be delivered to my office tomorrow. How soon should I see some improvement? Because the peas have been on the Corid since yesterday morning and they actually seem worse right now. One is keeping one eye closed pretty much all the time - what's up with that?? Also, I have a tube of ivermectine - can I use that to worm them all, and if so, how much? If not, I'll go get the safeguard liquid for goats (I assume that's available at TSC?).

Thank you all again for all of the help and advise. This has been rough. I'm thinking this may not be for me. I get so attached and it really hurts my heart when I lose any of them. :'( People think I'm crazy...crying over chickens and peachicks.

Here are pictures of the 2 babies. This was from Sunday evening. You can see the smaller, lighter one is a little fluffed up with droopy wings but the darker one seemed to be feeling a little frisky. But now they are both droopy and the darker one keeps his (or her???) left eye closed all the time. I have moved them to a crate, up off the ground but there is a floor with shavings in the bottom. Tomorrow I'm going to replace the floor with hardware cloth.

They're both really cute! I sure hope they make it... Have you weighed them yet? When you do, let us know and someone here can tell you how much liquid Corid and Safegaurd to give them orally if they still are not drinking.

This is probably a really stupid question, but how in the world do you weigh them? I can't imagine them being still long enough to get a weight! Plus what kind of scale do you use?

Can you tell what color or sex these two are?

That is the reason I stress "do not put them on the ground til they are at least 6 months old". It hurts when they pass and you feel hopeless and blame yourself. Yet others will fight and tell you to place them on the ground. I know I lost some when I first started and vowed never to lose another and knock on wood I have not. Now granted what I do works for me and I would recommend my method to everyone. 90% it will work for you but the 10% it won't - don't know why - I think they say they did it my way but I doubt it LOL. It is just like free ranging. The free range system that zazouse has in my opinion cannot be duplicated. My dogs will chase my birds, not everyone has HER trained dogs. So I tell people if you are willing to pay the ultimate price then free range. I personally like mine to much to lose so quickly. Ok I am rambling LMAO!
I do not know about the paste, never used it. I would go for the safeguard goat. Are they eating? I would stick with the wormer in the water cause you can get them to take it easier. If you need any further help just PM me and I will give you my number.

Postage scale will work. They need be still a few seconds. They look black shoulder, and do look like a pair but the fluffy one needs a better "above" pic. males have lots black and females do not. Males will start to get the green feathers around neck and females will not.

Will this be the first time you have wormed them? The advice I was given was to use safeguard first for the 3 days and then 14 days later use ivermectin. I read somewhere ( no retention of where) to use a pea sized lump of the safeguard paste on a full grown pea. The in the water type is easier. but if you have the paste you might as well use it. If you haven't already, I would bring them into the house to keep a closer eye on them and to better control their environment. And after you are done medicating, for a while at least it may help to add a couple of tablespoons of ACV/gallon to their water. I do this with all babies.

I use one like this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/American-Weigh-Scales-Inc.-Digital-Kitchen-Scale/21281915

To weigh the wilder ones that won't stand on the scale, I find a cardboard box that's just large enough, set it on the scale empty, zero the scale, put bird in box, read weight, record weight. I do this daily when they're really sick.
