My Peafowl Pictures

Wow! just looked at these pictures again and I'm amazed at how good they are. What were they taken with folks? They're so clear and sharp.

Actually we were talking about getting a new camera just today lol. The camera I am using is great and all, but it doesn't zoom as much as I would like it to since I am wanting to take pictures of wild animals too and with this camera's zoom that is not very possible, but on the otherhand the pictures turn out big, which is nice and the quality and color is pretty good too and all we use are the standard settings. The camera is several years old, so I am sure there are some better ones out there now but it is a small little digital Canon PowerShot A540 with 4x optical zoom and 6.0 mega pixels. It is still a great camera even after being dropped a few times!

didn't you buy alto when he was grown (like not a chick anymore)
how did you tame him so fast

We bought Alto as a yearling. I wanted him because he was taller than the other yearling male he was penned with and he was very active and curious. He has turned out to be one of my favorites because he has such personality. Taming him wasn't too hard since he is very curious, at first he was a bit weary of me but he liked the noise the camera made and so he would get closer to me when I had a camera. Then he would just walk up and stare at me. He likes to stare at my feet and look down on me from perches. I have pet him maybe twice on his neck when he wasn't looking but otherwize I can't pet him and like all the birds he eats out of my hand which is really easy to teach them to do since they love food so much. I think he just isn't as shy and so that helps. Oh and I notticed when he was displaying today that he has his first eye feather growing in!!!
