My pekin is wheezy!!!

k! I let them play outside for about 30 min. I really believe that he is wheezy cuz of over heat. I put a rubber tub of "warm" water out so they could swim in it if they wanted. They did not act cold at all, they even sat in the shade not in the sun. So what do you guys think I should do about the heat light? Should I take it away or leave it?

Great!!!

What did was, take the heat away during the day time and left it on at night. But mind you this was in February/March, it was much colder then now. You could take it away and get up in the middle of the night to see how they are acting. If they look:feel cold turn it back on.

Mine were about 3 weeks when I took their heat lamp away during the day and then turned it back on in the evening. I think just one week after that I left it off all day long. Ducklings grow fast and don't need as much heat as chicks. Your brooder looks smaller than mine - so I bet they will be warm enough for half a day with no heat lamp. When it is on, do they have space to get away from the heat? Also, do you monitor the temp? You could always move the heat lamp further away to make it cooler while it is on.
