My personal experience of keeping a rooster in an anti rooster neighborhood!

The point is it’s a slap in the face for all the nutty folks out there that actually need some sort of emotional support animal.
Nutty folks? Not everyone that has an emotional support animal is nutty.
I'm not nutty in the least and I have an emotional support Mexican jumping bean.
Whenever I get down or depressed I get it out of my pocket and put it on the table. Man that little dude will hop around and get me giggling like a school girl. I don't think I could be a contributing member of society without my little bouncing bean.

I agree - if i wanted to file my black lab as an ESA it would be hoops and hoops to go through. He helps my anxiety while driving (knowing he;s there), laying on top of me when i have anxiety induced pain, leans against me when im upset or stressed, etc.

yet people can do ESA for roosters and they do nothing except cause distress to their neighbors?
im sorry - i cannot get behind this. it's terribly insulting.
They got the certificate online I bet and it’s not a legal document. It’s a fake. Real ESAs should be backed up by Dr documentation and I’m sure that hasn’t been done.

The people who questioned the rooster probably left because they don’t want to be sued, they can’t tell a fake or fraud documentation unless they pursue further which these people didn’t do. If they did their rooster would be taken.

Do you have any to spare? I will trade a rooster for one.

why does an animal have to be rare or valuable to keep it? why can’t someone just want to keep a pet that is normal?
You can want to keep your pet, but is it fair to your neighbours? You are disturbing their lives on a daily basis. If your neighbour had a dog that barked all night long, would you appreciate it? A dog can be trained, a rooster can't. There are reasons that owning a rooster is illegal inside most town limits.

On top of wanting to keep your pet, you stooped to dishonest means that again, affects other people in a very negative way. I'm sorry, but your actions seem extremely selfish.

Sadly it will not work for everyone. Even an ESA with certification can be removed if it is causing a disturbance. I know. My mother works at the D.A.'s office and has had to deal with people who tried bringing all sorts of animals to court claiming them as emotional support animals, and wanting to keep them at home. She told me about a woman who was trying to keep an Emu in a mobile home park. I mean.. come on. That one is just ridiculous. Unless you can prove that it helps treat a documented illness it can be removed if someone wants to push it. Most of the time it is not a problem because the roo is not loud but if enough people complain it can be enough to cause the courts to get involved. So be aware that it is not a 100% full proof way to solve the problem. Hopefully no one will push the issue and your friend can keep her Roo.
