My personal experience of keeping a rooster in an anti rooster neighborhood!

Don't complain to me about it. I live in the country where I can have roosters and I have several hundred of them.
If I buy hatchery chicks I always buy straight run. I breed for color/patterns. Roosters are just as valuable to me as hens.
I am not part of the problem.
what do you do with the ones you don’t “need”

And I’m not saying eating meat is bad, my family eats meat. But difference is I butcher all the meat we eat. I know what happens behind the scenes because I’m doing it all. I’m not desensitized to the beginning of a chickens life to the end of a chickens life.

People and dogs needs to eat... are you vegan? Do you buy pullets only when getting chicks? Do you buy hens only when buying ducklings? Do you have dogs or cats that eat store bought food? If yes to any of these you are supporting this practice.

If you are buying any type of meat at a grocery store you are condoning killing of millions of animals just on one piece of meat. Like I said people need to eat And unless everyone starts providing their own food like they used to then factory farming will continue. This world is so desensitized on the practices that go behind the scenes to provide all the food that that’s in stores.
i don’t support buying any animals, so no. all my ducklings have been straight-run (my first are from a hatchery, before i knew about how cruel they were to the chicks/ducklings)

i have had 6 drakes and 3 hens since i got my first ducks. i still have most of them. two passed away (1 hen 1 drake) and i rehomed one drake to a nice loving home because he didn’t get along with his brothers. then one of the drakes was just a foster. i currently have 3 drakes and 2 hens.

I have to find a place for 5 cockerels, if there's such a place for them. I already have 2 emotional support cockerels, and I'm too sensitive to take care of the extras myself, or to even allow someone else to 'take care of them' (unless they're going to take care of them!). I'm prolonging the inevitable, until they become an issue.

Thought you'd be surprised! Honestly, I was surprised it worked!
Not surprised.. just appalled that a fellow BYCer is looking for loop holes in the law to be a crappy neighbor.. due to their poor choices to go against the law they KNEW existed,, :rant

AND also diminish the ANY headway that's been made in mental illness.. YOU ARE NOT HANDICAPPED and playing so is despicable.. :smack

SMH!
