and to not use male packing peanuts

good one!

I received an order from them a week ago. I received them only one day after my shipping date and all were alive and perky when they got here. So far they all seem very happy and healthy.

After my order I had a question and I called them. I got through first try and they were very helpful.

Now I am just praying that they are all girls like they should be but from the sound of it most people got what they ordered.

I would definitely buy from them again and would recommend them.

I saw if you order 25 or more there is a $15.00 care package. Do you have to pay shipping on top that? I would be ordering st. run, and if I have to pay extra shipping, I would be better off buying from Ideal again.

When you order over 25 birds, the TLC package goes away entirely. Rather than express shipping them they go out priority.

They contact you by e-mail to let you know when to expect your shipment.

My personal experience with MPC:
Negative: a little expensive, with the extra thing you have to pay for to get a small order.
Positive: Got exactly what I ordered, the day after shipping, which was the shipping date promised. Everybody is happy, healthy and too cute for words. Too early to tell if sexing was accurate, but the one that is supposed to be a roo is the bossiest and bravest, so I think they were accurate.

The reason I had to wait was that I wanted NH Reds in my order and they were not ready until late June. The day or two after I placed my order I got an e-mail that they would be shipped on June 25th and arrive not later than the 26th. The arrived on the 25th. I had not further contact with MYC after their confirmation e-mail.

i think it's pretty important to point out here that, aside from customer service, which is 100% MPC, the chicks themselves and the small order program are all done by meyer hatchery. i think it's fairly silly to gripe about the price of the express shipping and care package. if you don't want to pay the extra for a small order, order more than 25 and you'll pay the same as from any other hatchery (plus or minus competition pricing).

personally, having a small order was essential for me getting chicks and i was grateful that such a program was in place.

i've not had any need to contact MPC, but i feel that their notification system after the order and the information they provide to newbie customers is great. in future, i'll probably go straight to the meyer catalog for my chicks, just to cut out the middle man, but so far, this has been a good mailorder experience. of course, my chicks aren't coming 'til next week, so i may have to eat my words.

We had 100% postive MPC experience, and no one else that I know of will ship only three birds. They worked out to be about $10 apiece (we got three), and if you need a small number (less than 10) I think it's perfectly fair to charge a premium for them.

Just my 2 cents,
