3 survivors so far, but I thought some of the others were gonna make it. Now I have no confidence, but still hope for the last 3,![]()

2 survivors nowwOW! I don't understand? Why are so many arriving so stressed? (there are reports of similar losses on FB as well). You're not in the deep south and neither is Meyer's so heat shouldn't be an issue and definitely not cold even up here should be a problem now. I still don't understand why they ship w/o including Grogel, (not in with the chicks even if you buy it extra) everyone else does. It really can make the difference. (No more comments on the missing heat paks).![]()
I can only hold my breath on the (supposed to) re-ship of my frozen chicks on Monday. I just hope I'm not going to regret deciding to try again.
Some bantam do travel poorly, I lost half of mine. It's so sad, hopefully your last two hang in there. I don't think the bantam have the same body reserves as the bigger chicks. Wishing you luck.2 survivors now. I know it's not me though. It was only around 50 degrees when I picked up at the post office. The chicks I got were all bantam. I suspect they were just to fragile partly for that reason. They were definitely cold peeping when I picked them up. They couldn't stand. I imagine it's hard to learn how on wobbly legs in a moving vehicle.
I am considering trying again also. Maybe standard fowl though, since there are really no bantams available for shipping in my preferred time frame, ....immediately.![]()
I see you mention Myer's, mine were actually from My pet Chicken, Ohio or Connecticut maybe, both addresses were on my label. Still hoping the last 2 make it!Bantam EE and Wellsummer.

I mentioned Meyer because that's the primary source for My Pet Chicken's chicks. They are a "clearinghouse" or "retailer" if you will. they are not a hatchery. Some of their more rare breeds come from other sources (from what I understand) but 90% or so come from Meyer. MPC is in Connecticut, Meyer Hatchery is in Ohio.2 survivors now. Yes, around 7:30 I got notice of shipment last time, though that is just when the label was generated. Tracking wasn't available until PO picked it up.Well, Monday morning and no update from either MPC or the post office so I have no clue if mine are shipping this week or not. I can only hope the communication with this ship is better than last time. Actually I can deal with lousy communication as long as my babies don't take the "scenic" route this time (courtesy of the USPS) and I get another box of frozen corpses.
Does anyone know if the MPC system generates any kind of a notification of a yes or no? (only one I can remember from last time was a notice from the PO that the "package" was received at their facility). From then on it was PO "fairytales".
